The site I visited was coolmath4kids.com. Its a great site for kids just beginning their math education. However, it is not only limited to beginners. The age group for this site is from 4-13 years old, so grade 2-7. Its a useful tool for teachers to have available for their class. Its kinda fun too!
Assignment 6 Oliver Caudell
I found my new favorite resource site. www.seriweb.com is a collection of websites that will give you very much information on how to deal with situations in special education. Giving examples and basically faqs for everything from legal aspects to dealing with your child with A.D.D.
Assignment 6
I found this really great and useful website - http://www.nasa.gov/audience/forstudents/k-4/index.html It provides a section that is strictly for students. They have activities for students K-12. It also provides a section for teachers. It has lessons plans where it shows the activity, explains any activity, as well as provides assessments with the answers. This website is a great choice if you are planning on teaching a lesson dealing space and travel.
Assignment 6 George Patterson
In my resource evaluation I evaluated Action Fractions on Funschool.com because after playing the game a few times I could see it was an excellent way to learn how to add fractions. This game gives you the opportunity to be involved in a car race that is determined by how fast you can answer fraction problems. So this game makes you have to be able to work efficiently and effectively to win. I believe by having students interacting with the this game it could help them work on being able to know how to do fractions very quickly and correctly.

The resource evaluation I did was for the Oregon Trail software. I picked this historical software game because I am a social science education major and because it was so much fun to play in elementary school during classes. I believe it is a good game because it allows the students to make decisions in groups and letting them learn history at the same time. Students should be given the opportunity to learn a little history on their own or at least the realities of it, and I think that's what the Oregon Trail allows students to do.

I evaluated a software program called Music Ace. Its purpose is to help students learn how to read and play music. I liked this game because the students do not need any musical background to play it. One negative thing about this game is that the directions were not always clear. However I would still use this program in my classroom.
