Assignment 1b

My name is Jonathan Christian and I have just completed my junior year at the University of Alabama. I am majoring in elementary education. I believe that technology is a major part of our lives, whether we like it or not. I believe that technology has quickened the rate at which we do things; I believe that this has created some problems. I still believe that technology should be a central part of education. However, I believe that there are some things that need to be done with pencil and paper. I believe everyone should know how to write in cursive. I believe that incorporating technology in the classroom will help students be better prepared for their future endeavors. I believe this, because technology is a major part of society. I see myself using technology in the classroom every single day. I plan on presenting new material to my students through the use of PowerPoint presentations. I will also allow my students to find new information online. My students will take part in interactive computer-based games. I will also use technology to communicate with my students and their parents. I will use blogs to communicate outside of class. I believe that that technology will allow communication to take place faster.

Hello everyone, my name is Will Pappas. I am a junior majoring in General Business. In my opinion, technology is a necessity that our generation will ultimately have to live with. However, technology keeps us in check. It allows us to keep a virtual schedule and keep us in contact with others much quicker than say, 15 to 20 years ago. I basically, simplifies many everyday jobs, such as, paper calenders, balancing checkbooks, paper mail to e-mail, phone books to cell phones. I believe that technology should be put in to education. If not other societies and countries education will insitute it, and will pass us on an educational level.

Hello my name is Caleb and I'm a sophmore who is majoring in psychology. Personally I think technology is a very useful tool for not only work but also relaxing. Many people say that technology intorduces many new stresses that just make life chaotic. I say that technology also adds more ways to make life easier when it comes to work and leisure. Even though work can now follow us home and sometimes make us spend more time working than relaxing, it still gives us freedom to do work when and how we want. We can do some work and then watch a movie using the internet. We can write some sort of a paper then relax and read some online readings. We could even do research while sitting in a massaging chair. Technology gives us freedom to do work how and when we want.

Hello! My name is Julie Burt and I am a first year grad student at Alabama. I finished my undergraduate degree in May 2008 majoring Elementary Education. I just completed my first year teaching 4th grade at Brent Elementary School. I am working on a Masters degree in Special Education: Gifted/Talented. Technology is a very important part of education. It can be used in parent-teacher communication. It is also important to teach students how to use technology, such as the internet, safely.

Hi everyone, my name is Jessica Hill. I am a senior majoring in both Elementary education and special education. I am from Birmingham, AL. I think this world could use more crativity and people need more encouagement to crate. I beleive that creativity starts with education and I plan to intorduce it more often to the students I teach. I love musical arts, dance, ballet and acting, along with many other activites.
